Banana Poori

banana poori
These Mangalore banana buns or poories are delicious to have as a snack or to enjoy for breakfast. This is a good way to use ripe bananas.

1 cup flour
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 bananas
1 tbsp yogurt
water if needed you may not need to use any water

Mix all the ingredients and let it rest for 4 hours to 8 hours. This is allow the mixture to ferment. Make small balls the size of ping pong balls, and roll it in a floured surface and keep it ready in a platter.
banana poori
oil to fry

Heat oil and once the oil is hot drop the rolled poories and let it fry. It will take a few seconds to fry both sides. Keep pouring oil over the top and lightly press the frying poories for it to swell. Make sure to stay back as the oil will spit. Remove the banana poories with a spoon and drain on a paper towel. Serve it warm.
