Making Meals in the Clipso T-Fal Pressure Cooker

A pressure cooker is very handy tool to have at home for me because it allows me to cook healthy meals quickly. I think every cook needs a tool like a pressure cooker that will help them cook meals fast. I have been using the T-Fal Clipso Pressure Cooker for a while now to make a variety of meat dishes, lentil, and soup.
I love the easy of using this pressure cooker! The patented one hand easy opening and closing locking system is really handy for me because I do not have to press or make sure the locks click. The above picture is without the lock, and the below picture is with the lock.
I like that this pressure cooker has a brushed stainless steel interior and exterior that allows us to make a variety of dishes, and makes cleaning easy. The base of this pressure cooker makes it compatible on a variety of stoves such as gas, hotplate, glass ceramic, induction, and electric coil.

There is no need to heat the pan before putting in our ingredients; preheating could damage the pan. The manual also mentions not to make recipes with milk, and to always make sure there is a good amount of liquid but no more than two-third to cook the food or the pressure cooker will damage. It also mentioned that the salt should be added towards the end of cooking.
This pressure cooker comes with a steam basket that we can place to steam a variety of dishes from puddings to vegetables. This 6L pressure cooker also comes with a colourful 60 recipes, recipe book if you are new to pressure cooking. I found having the ergonomic handles helped moving the cooked meals and safely lifting the pressure cooker.
Like with any other pressure cooker, when using this one as well make sure the inside pressure has returned to normal before opening the cooker. I like that there is a valve on top we can turn for the steam to escape before opening the lid. I found that I have to time my dishes because there is no whistle to keep count as with traditional pressure cookers that I am used to. If you want to open the pressure cooker quickly and not wait for a few minutes for the steam to escape, then run the pressure cooker under cold water. Always make sure before opening the cooker that it has cooled down to avoid injuries.
I have made a variety of dishes from lentil dishes, stew, and meat dishes on this pressure cooker that turned out delicious. Here is a recipe for the meat dish I made.

1 lb beef with bone cut into approximately 1 1/2" cubes

1 tbsp of oil
1" cinnamon stick
2 to 3 cardamom seeds
1/2 cup onion chopped
1 tbsp garlic minced
1 tbsp ginger minced
1/2 cup tomato chopped
1 tbsp curry leaves chopped optional
1 tbsp tamarind pulped with a little bit of water
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 to 1/2 tbsp chillie powder to taste
1/2 tbsp corriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp salt added towards the end
about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of water a little less than the level of meat
3 tbsp yogurt optional

Sauté the onion, ginger, garlic, and curry leaves in the oil. Then add the meat with the spices and toss it. Then add the tomato and tamarind pulp toss it together. Add the water and let the meat cook in the pressure cooker covered for about 8 to 10 minutes on medium high heat. Off the cooker, let the steam escape then open the pressure cooker and see if the meat is cooked. If there is a lot of gravy and you want less, increase the heat and let it cook without the lid.

If you want a thick gravy, you can add about 3 tbsp of yogurt with the salt and let the gravy get thick.

  19. I love cooking meals in a pressure cooker. Cooking time is drastically reduced and meat turns out so tender and juicy. I wish I still had one.
