Pav Bhaji Rice - Mumbai Tawa Pulao

This fried rice type of flavourful rice dish is prepared with cooked rice and a combination of spices and vegetables. This dish makes a wonderful meal that can be served for lunch or dinner.

2 to 3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 large onion finely chopped
1 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 cup each chopped vegetables such as beans, carrot, capsicum, frozen peas
1 green chillie
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp pav bhaji masala store bought or homemade
1/2 tsp salt to taste
2 cups cooked basmati rice
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander for garnish

Heat the pan and put the unsalted butter. Once the butter melts add the chopped onions and let it cook. Then add the ginger garlic paste and cook for about 3 minutes. 

Add the vegetables, sliced green chillie and turmeric, and let the vegetables cook in low heat for about 10 minutes. 

Once the vegetables cook add the pav bhaji masala powder, salt and the cooked rice and toss it well. Serve hot.
